Cardboard Junkie responds to the Ben Henry’s post about the lax collector:

This is where I see the hobby heading. More and more celebrities signing for trading card sets. It accomplishes a few things that the manufacturers are desperate to have in their new sets. It provides something to promote their product around, something new that hasn’t been seen before.

But it has been done before. It’s still an autograph, it’s just not of a baseball player. And speaking as a “lax collector” myself, I can tell you that I’m not interested in pulling any Hollywood autographs from my box of cards. If I wanted one of those, I’d go buy Donruss Americana.

It’s fine for the card companies to release Hollywood related sets. I know that some already do. Put the Harrison Ford and Shai LaBeouf autograph cards in the Indiana Jones trading cards. Keep them out of the sports releases. Please.
