2008 Topps U & H Hobby Box Packs 7 & 8

18 11 2008

Disclaimer:   Base cards may be depicted as Gold or Black bordered parallels.  I just needed the image.

Pack 7

UH44 Ryan Sweeny
UH128 LaTroy Hawkins
UH74 Corey Patterson

patterson1

I actually said, “Hey it’s a Red-  oh, it’s Corey Patterson” when I pulled this one.  Corey worked hard in September to pull his average up over the Mendoza Line and finish with a .205 average.  You have to wonder why he worked in Baltimore and nowhere else.  Thankfully for Reds fans, Corey’s a free agent once more.

UH166 Ryan Braun Home Run Derby
UH148 David Wright All Star
UH255 Brian Horwitz
UH228 Joe Blanton

I’m pretty sure Blanton just pitched that ball.  At least I hope so, because he’s in no position to field it.

UH257 Casey Blake
WBC21 Carlos Lee World Baseball Classic

Has there been a recent all horizontal set?  Because I think you could make a stong argument for one to exist.  A great looking card even if it makes me sing out loud like David Lee Roth.

UH259 Aaron Boone Gold Foil
The road to Toppstown is paved with 7 character codes

Pack 8

UH307 Greg Norton
UH169 Eulogio De La Cruz
Uh103 Chris Burke
Uh207 Alberto Gonzalez
UH321 Jeff Niemann
UH87 Ryan Langerhans

Remember kids:  Even on the basepaths, keep your eyes on the ball.

UH276 Corey Hart All Star
UH294 Mark Teixeira
UH102 Matt Murton

After knowing Murton in Cubbie blue for so long, this card with him in green just looks wrong.

I had the same David Lee Roth moment, but not out loud.
