20th Anniversary fail

8 05 2009

I thought Upper Deck’s 20th anniversary waste of space insert set was to celebrate things that happened during their twenty years in the hobby.  Here it is straight from their website:

Upper Deck has put together a retrospective, 2,500-card insert set chronicling many of the top events that have taken place over the past two decades.

So then what’s a card about the seventies doing in there?

Then when I went to the checklist page, I see this:

Five different cards for the “I Love You” email virus?  And with the same picture?

It looks like every picture in the set gets five different cards, just with a different blurb.   Check it out here.

I already knew this set was a waste of time.  Now, it’s even worse.

It is never inappropriate to commemorate the Canadiens’ 1970s domination.

Those e-mail virus cards are just lame, though.
