Marlins Cantu win, beat Reds 5-3

15 04 2010

Well that was disappointing.  Homer Bailey could get out of the sixth, giving up five runs and eight hits en route to his first loss of the season.  The Reds star of the game is clearly Paul Janish, making his first start and going 2-3 with a two run home run.  But the over all star of the game goes to:

Cantu set a record tonight, becoming the first player to record a hit and drive in a run in his teams first nine games.  He did so by hitting a solo shot off of Homer in the fifth, which would prove to be the game winner.  He can now focus on the overall record of seventeen set by Ray Grimes back in 1922, a man I have no cards of at all.

Hopefully the Reds can close out this series with a win and give Aaron Harang a victory.  It would be the first victory for a Reds starter this season if they do.
